I ran out of mascara recently and instead of buying my favorite mascara, decided to try a cheaper replacement. I liked the name and ads for Lash Stiletto and am constantly looking for a product to provide me the shiny, black lashes that Maybelline promised.
MLS was soft when applied, but the coverage and shine was light. The packaging said that the product could be removed with soap and water or makeup remover. What it didn’t mention is that it also just disappears after a few hours of wear. Adding soap and water to the removal requirements was laughable. I do want smooth lashes, but if they can’t last through one date, then it isn’t even worth the time to apply.
It’s experiences like this that make me want to spend more on important items where I can test them out first and not waste $8.00 on a completely useless one.

Paul Newman died. I met him once and he was polite and had the BLUEST eyes I had ever seen. He was probably in his 70’s and still great looking and charming.

Today almost past without me realizing it was the anniversary of my accident. Maybe next year I’ll completely miss it.
I have a little back soreness today, even iced a bit but I think it’s from doing too much when camping; which is a fine problem to have– will be more carefull next time.

Slept much better, woke up and the day was thankfully cooler (high 90s). Many folks had bits of sunburn here and there and weren’t looking forward to being in the 90 degree weather so we decided to go to one of the nearby caves (60 degrees for relief). We chose the one with the tram down rather than the 283 stairs (down and then up) which was a Gold Mine.
They had some dirt you could pan that was seeded with gold or gems and it was really fun to pan with guaranteed results. We were in the shade and I could really see what a difficult life that would have been. We had a little case of gold rush fever with R (5.5 yrs) who was VERY protective of his gold.
Next we got into trams to take us underground into the mine and see old and new mining techniques, including a vein of quartz with some gold on it.
We had a very late lunch, broke down camp (I did a little too much lifting), and then tried to go fishing. In the dark.
The water was so far from the ramp we had to walk a quarter mile down (and later up!) a steep boat ramp in the dark with fishing gear and 3 kids. It was pretty dark (9pm) at that point and no real place to sit (just the WRONG size rocks). The twins got impatient after about 3 minutes and after about 10 minutes of that I took them back up to the car. I got a few casts in with my new rod and kevlar line and even fed a catfish some chicken liver (I really need to learn when they are biting
)
Then we hit the gas station and were home around 12:30.

but in one of the moves, I guess I got rid of it. So I bought one tonight. It is really awesome. I realized when I got it home, that I’ve never put line on a pole before. The one pole my dad gave me came loaded and I never had to reload it.
My new pole didn’t come loaded and so I bought this new kevlar-thread line to try which should be interesting. The strength of 40lb line with the thickness of 6.
I’m exhausted and ready to sleep.
Oh yeah, and I downloaded Alice after watching more of Randy Pausch’s Last Lecture today.

I love my iPhone.
I waited to buy it, I knew they made mistakes, omissions in the design that I couldn’t really fathom. (No select, copy, paste??)
On the other hand, I love it. I just got Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory in the movies section. I can easily check (AND READ) my webmail. It is a great, bright, easy-to-read screen. I can take my phone and iPod to the gym in one step.
I don’t have to watch the crap at the gym, I have my own shows with me. So far, the PROs significantly outweigh the CONs.
Got a theme installed. Need to figure out tags, keywords, and linked posting to LJ
Yep, I have it and you most likely don’t. Went to Gamestop and waited for it. Really the waiting was more about being with my friends, but, it was fun. I have B’s cold and went through a box of Kleenex (TM) in line.
On the other hand I am on disk two of the installation
